Mobile oddities

Ok, so I neglected this blog for a full month. Sue me.

Still, some strange stuff on the airwaves.

* MMS from a 1xxxx number I was charged for when transfering the message, only to have it timeout. Maybe I should call Vodafone about this, as it’s unacceptable having to pay for their ads (if this is the case).
* Yet another MMS, this time from a regular subscriber number, with the subject “Norton AntiVirus”, 10kb in size. Didn’t transfer it, but could this be some worm? I guess I’m safe, as all those Symbian viruses are harmless on my SE V600i. I accept all that I receive by Bluetooth, in the strangest places, and I intend to collect them all just like they were Pokemon. I’m reckless like that.
* Yet another Vodafone “Speak for 0 cents (after 1st minute), from 15 to 31 of May, cost: 4 euro.”. A good deal if data calls were allowed and there was no restriction for how long I could hold a call. In their fine print there is probably a “5 hours max” or some other limit, like in all the other times they offered different ways to suck more cash when realizing I wasn’t giving them enough money each month.

Still, their GSM dialup still works, and was the data transoport of choice for the past weekend in Algarve. Ahhh, the blast from the past of 9.6kb dialup.
